Make the count make sense.
Start with the fictional sample or replace it with your quantities. Use one location and period. Counted minus expected gives the difference.
Returns means goods physically restocked, not refunds. Do not include a balancing stocktake adjustment or count the same movement twice.
Import and map a CSV
Use one location, period and unit per product. Import replaces the worksheet; the original source CSV is not retained.
Reuse column mappings
Save only header choices. Applying a profile never imports quantities; the current CSV still needs a fresh preview. Profiles have a separate backup from worksheets and saved counts.
Profiles retain names and selected column labels, not source files or quantities.
Product code and Counted require a column. Unassigned movement fields become zero.
Current count context
Name, location and physical count cutoff are required to save a count copy. Source snapshot time and count cutoff may differ; include timezones. Use consistent quantity meanings and one unit per product.

Apply a physical recount
Update only the counted quantities for matching current product codes. Existing opening stock, production, returns, sales, losses and adjustments stay in place. Unmatched products and saved count copies stay unchanged.
Exactly two columns: sku and counted. Use the same units, location and count cutoff as the worksheet. Blank counts are rejected; enter zero explicitly when counted stock is zero.

Saved count copies
Capture the current entries and context before importing the next CSV. Copies do not update an inventory system or establish a verified audit trail.
Export includes all saved context and review notes. Check for personal information before sharing.

Compare saved counts
Choose A and B deliberately. Pairing uses product codes, not verified units or chronology. Neither saved copy nor the active worksheet changes.
